Toby’s Resort (Montego Bay)

If you are ever in Montego Bay, on a budget and need somewhere to crash then you should definitely check out Toby’s resort. My first encounter was with the front desk staff who were well trained and very welcoming. After a Smooth check in I was escorted to my room by the courteous Mr. McCallum.

The room and bathroom was very clean and and spacious and it also came with shampoo and lotion as well as a fever grass scented soap. There was also a balcony with chairs and a view of the pool.

 On this Small and beautiful resort you can find 2 pools, a bar and a restaurant. There were lounge chairs at the pool where you can just sit relax and have a bartender serve you a ice cold red stripe light.

You could relax in the mini pool, sit at the bar or just casually lounge about. Its not every time that the smaller resorts give you the I want to come back feels.

Everywhere I go I meet people and I listen to their stories and this time it was no different. I met Christian  from Montreal, Canada who said he went online saw this resort at a good price and proceeded to book both his flight and his accommodation. He also expressed that this is his first time in Jamaica and he was a little worried about the resort base on the price but now he is enjoying it.

 

The bartender was very courteous and was also the one who helped me to get these beautiful shots.

For all the late eaters please note the restaurant closes off at 9:30 pm so I didn’t end up catching dinner. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and ends at 11 am , just early enough for me to grab a bite at the poolside before I ran out to catch my 9:00 am interview.

I had just a short moment at Toby’s resort but enough to like it and enough to want to come back

My only drawbacks was that Id appreciate a Conditioner to compliment the shampoo as I washed my hair and it was left dry and brittle with only shampoo.

A mini refrigerator would have been good in the room as well as a blow dryer.

The Old Spanish Bridge (Labyrinth, St Mary )

Because everyone kept asking where is this beautiful gem so I had to do a blog for this island’s paradise.

 

 

First let me say this is the old spanish Bridge in Labyrinth St Mary. And no there is no entry fee associated with visiting. This piece of paradise is clean and the surrounding area well kept by a local who took the responsibility to do so hence its only fair we tip him as reward for his good deed 😊

He Is definitely a great sport and will show you a few tricks he has up his sleeves including lending you his floatation devise to make beautiful memories and experiences lol

the water is clear when close with a hint of blue and green colour glowing From it due to it’s limestone properties

 

I was literally running around like a kid in candy land.

THere was a swing that took you over the water . There was also a swing that you could  jump from but I wasn’t all about that at the moment 😂

in a nutshell guys it was great

In the end it’s never the years in our lives that counts but the life In our years. Every moment counts and sometimes we have to sit back relax and be one with nature.

The journey is never ending. There’s always gonna be growth, improvement, adversity; you just gotta take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.

every day we plan for tomorrow and next year also the year after but we are never sure that the next day will come. Thus we should live each day like it’s our last. Savoring the things around us. Praise God and give thanks for each day because it was never promised to us.

Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way.

Geewiz it’s Christmas at Villa Sonate (Runaway Bay)

To be comfortable and happy are goals 🙏🏾 And that’s exactly what Villa Sonate in Runaway Bay, St Ann gives you. My Christmas holiday was beautifully spent with the Villa Sonate Family who invited me to spend Christmas with them.

Christmas dinner was excellent, maybe too good cause I ate too much and not to mention the good ole Jamaican sorrel. It was a ball. Fun, food, live music and great people.

This is a beautiful place to spend your special occasion be it an anniversary or birthday because the food is excellent and the rooms are beautiful and wait did I mention the beautiful serene gardens that are so well kept ? Well there I said it. I was in love 😍

I would have never imagined a smaller property to offer so much and to be so divine. I just couldn’t get over how beautiful it was. Cable television, WiFi all around, pool, lush lawns and meals included in rate if needed. What more could anyone ask for. Private and away from the crowdy all inclusive hotel.

The area is well secured and if I needed assistance they were just one phone call away. It’s great to be treated like royalty and did I mention that I was served breakfast in bed like a fully spent honeymoon lol

I will go back 🙏🏾 Definitely! I don’t think I’ll be able to resist.

I told you happiness and comfort are goals 💜

Blue Mountain bicycle Tour

One of the best adventures I’ve ever gone on is the Blue mountain Bicycle Tour. We had a lenghty and informative bus ride up in the mountains where we stopped at coffee bar to have brunch and grab some coffee ☕️ 😋 We then got in our gears and head for the top of the mountains with our tour guides.

I’m definitely all about “living funner” , making every moment count and building memories. Guys brunch was delicious and so was the coffee. On our rest stop for brunch we also got to see how to roast the coffee beans . Was quite interesting and informative.

The bike ride down the mountains was pure fun and it also started to rain. I mean what’s a rainforest without rain? Lol. We did get ponchos to cover from the rain but who cares we were enjoying ourselves. Guys if you ever happen to take This tour please be advised that if it happens to rain you can always choose to head to the bus or the van that is traveling with you.

Fun never ended because after the bike ride down the mountain we stopped Midway to have lunch and then headed for the waterfalls where we all went to take a dip. The water was freezing cold lol.

 

Whilst on this extraordinary adventure I met the awesome Manager of operations who proceeded to highlight that it was actually Jamaicans blue mountain coffee day. He also informed me that it marked the day Jamaica made its first shipment to Japan who is still one of our biggest markets.

The fun was extreme and I must say special thanks to the tour guides and security who made us felt safe and like everything  was possible. I remember the rain chant “ it’s more fun wet” lol.

Guys this is a must do !

When it’s nice do it twice (yes I mean Everything)

Island routes Catamaran Cruise

When it’s nice do it twice and take friends too. Did I tell you guys about my fear of going out to sea in my previous blog post on catamaran cruises… well here I am doing it once again cause it was too good to be real haha. There is something about thrilling experiences that makes you want to experience them again. This is one of those thrilling experience.

This catamaran Cruise was twice as nice and the crew members were nothing short of epic. So you board the catamaran and you are introduced to everyone on deck (crew members and guests) you are given the safety tips and drills and we set sail. A little music start bumping and you just enjoy the sunlight as the wind soothes your skin.

The crew members interact with everyone on deck and before you know it they wanna throw you in the ocean lol I meant take you snorkeling. Yes I had a tour guide again who stayed with me the entire time except a brief minute where he asked if I wanted to feed the fishes and said hold on. He then swam back to the boat to get bagels, leaving me in the middle of the ocean lol. Of course my friend and the other crew members were laughing at me while I yelled “ I didn’t sign up fa this get the rescue team… the fishes are nibbling me” lol I was the entertainment.

After going back on board the next stop was Dunn’s river falls where everyone got off to climb the falls. After the falls we got back on board and it went into full party mode with music blasting  and everyone on board dancing. Definitely a good time.

Now the Food lol yes there were sandwiches,chips, chicken etc on deck as well as alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Let’s just say it was “turnt right up”

Dunn’s river falls tour will be added in a separate blog guys as it had it own experiences haha

Yaaman Aventure park

Yaaman Adventure Park

On This beautiful island that we live there are so many beautiful and interesting places to be and to see.

Now get your fun pants on and lets check out Yaaman adventure park which can be found 7-10 minutes outside of Ocho Rios town and is one of the most awesome places to be ever.

In this one spot you can enjoy Camel rides, dune buggy’s, tractor ride, cooking tour, plantation tour and the famous Segway. Guys if I’m missing anything feel free to drop them in the comment section below.

Allow me to introduce my newest friend Moses. Yes that’s Moses in the picture above lol,  he was a little moody but he eventually decided we should be friends.

Guys it is very important that you bring extra clothes to change if you’ll be doing the mud buggy as it gets really messy out there lol.

The tour guide I got was the best ever and he was so funny my face literally started to hurt lol. This is an old slave plantation (tour guide said he was the only surviving slave”  with interesting ancient collections and you can learn all about their boys training school from your guided tractor tour.

This is no doubt one of the best things to do while you are in Jamaica.

No need to worry about our favorite part (food) yess I would never leave the food section out. Of course I mentioned a cooking tour where you’ll make your own jerk chicken and rice with callaloo etc and yes you get to eat it. Now don’t eat too much because when you get back to the park there will be a buffet waiting for you.

The visa crisis (Countries Jamaicans can visit without a visa)

There are approximately 85 countries that Jamaicans can visit with only their passports or visa on arrival.  Please see link below

Most of these countries do not require transit through United States or even Canada so there we go guys we can travel the world without a visa.

It’s a very tedious process for Jamaicans to get a United States, British or Canadian visa and I have no idea why. However the world is a big place and we can see it without boundaries if we want to.

South Africa is on my bucket list of countries and it’s probably on yours too but the thought of having no visa and the flights goes through the United States scares you. Well let me give you hope and shine some light your way guys , you do not have to ! There are several countries which acts as a hub hence you can transit through their country to reach your destination. For example we can visit Colombia, Cuba and Mexico by going through Panama.

Now getting your passport stamped is the deal. For every country you visit they will put a stamp in your passport and that is your resume to Travel. And I’m pretty sure whenever your passport gets that many tattoos United States or Canada can never tell you no.

So there we have it guys the world is a big place and it’s open to all of  us 😘

My very first boat cruise

haha I know you guys must be wondering how in the world could this be her first boat cruise  Well since I love you guys so much I’m going to Be open about my phobia of being in deep waters. Let me tell you how scared I was to board this boat but as soon as I got on the boat guys my fear disappeared and I jumped into excitement mode. Lol.

This was the dreamer catamaran cruise in Montego Bay and they sure as hell treated me special. The boat takes you out to sea then stop to allow everyone to enjoy snorkeling and seeing how beautiful the ocean is. Of course because of my phobia it took me ten years to get in the water and when I did I had a guide by my side lol. While my friend sat on the boat and made a video of how stupid I was to get into the deep ocean lol.

Food how could I forget food.. well they have finger food, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on the boat. Patties, snacks, Doritos etc

My little hideaway in Kingston

Eden Garden Wellness resort and Spa

 

Whenever I run into Kingston and need a night over or two Eden Garden is my to go Place. It’s comfortable it’s cozy and as the name suggest they are all about wellness.

The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, it gives you that warm homey feeling. The receptionists are very professional and being in the hotel industry for six long years I’m very big on service. Saying that though guys the team at Eden Garden are very prompt. They called me before I checked in to find out what time I’d be getting there and if I’m ok 🙂 Now it’s not any hotel’s duty to call and check if you are ok etc but they do and that is one of the small things that keeps me going back.

The restaurants serves mostly healthy meals as I can recall ordering a burger from room service and when my meal arrived I kept staring at it like where is my fries and my white bread lol. But it was great.

Guys this beautiful sanctuary is not just for stop overs it’s definitely your go to place for relaxation and rejuvenation.
